An engineer is wired to solve problems — in the water or out. To me, diving is reality, formulated: buoyancy, gas, and pressure written as equations clean enough to solve and checked against the water. When equation and water disagree, the water is right — trust, but verify. This is where that lives — the classes I'm teaching, two specialties I built, and tools for seeing the math underneath.

Distinctive specialties — each its own world.

Two PADI Distinctive Specialties I built, each from a student's question: Diver's Gambit — buddy-team chess underwater — and Reef Cartographer, which turns a dive into a chart you actually made.

Learn to dive — with me.

I teach year-round through Diving Enterprises in Salem: confined-water skills in the shop pool, open water at Gray Quarry. These are the classes I'm teaching myself — the dates drop off the page once they've passed. For the shop's full catalog of classes and trips, see Diving Enterprises.
