The checks that decide whether a frame is usable run topside. This is unavoidable, so it is planned for instead: at least three frames at each photo point, with the charts re-seated between them.
Re-seating is the point, not a detail. Three frames shot in a burst from one placement all share whatever was wrong with that placement. Three independent placements give three independent chances.
Rejected frames are logged, with the reason, and the rejection rate is reported. It is not an embarrassment to be minimized by relaxing the standard. It is a measurement of your capture technique, and a diver who improves watches it fall between Dive 2 and Dive 3.
